Abstract— Programming languages are specialized languages used to give instructions to computers to perform specific tasks. In the field of information technology, these languages are the core foundation that enables us to develop software, websites, mobile applications, and many other things. This research aims to compare the proficiency in programming languages among students of STMIK Antar Bangsa with global industry standards. Programming languages are a key element in software development. The comparison is made by identifying the most commonly used programming languages in the industry based on global surveys and comparing them with the programming language proficiency of STMIK Antar Bangsa students. This research method utilizes global survey data published in 2023, involving 87,585 developers worldwide. This data is compared with the results of an internal survey of STMIK Antar Bangsa students. An Independent T-Test is used to compare the means of the two uncorrelated groups. Based on the T-test results, there is sufficient evidence to state that there is a statistically significant difference between the industry-standard programming languages worldwide and the programming languages mastered by STMIK Antar Bangsa students. The p-value, which is less than the chosen significance level (0.0224 < 0.05), indicates that this difference is significant. The relatively wide 95% confidence interval (ranging from 2.2785 to 27.4173) also suggests a significant variation in the average difference between the two groups with a high degree of confidence. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the industry-standard programming languages worldwide and the programming languages mastered by STMIK Antar Bangsa students based on the T-test conducted.
